How do you pronounce “ashiatsu”?
Imagine soft feet and broad pressure in combination with consistent pressure from body weight. An overhead bar system is utilized for balance and flow. Long connecting strokes release chronic back pain and unwind soft tissue damage, stimulating a healthy flow of energy in the body. A pointy, sharp elbow can feel extremely painful, however, with Ashiatsu massage you relax into the table melting your aches and pain away. Ashiatsu Massage allows to easily address the intrinsic muscles, joint capsules and deep fascia, even down to the periosteum (a dense layer of vascular connective tissue enveloping the bones).

i am not sure about the idea of your feet on me
Think about all the things your hands touch all day, do you really think my feet are dirty? My feet are sanitized and wiped with a hot towel before and after each session. I also receive regular pedicures.
is ashiatsu a “real” treatment and where is it from?
Ashiatsu dates back as far as the 12th century and was associated with a massage called “Chavutti Thirumal”. The individual would lay face down on a mat. The body would be heavily oiled before the practitioner would begin the massage with their bare feet, holding an overhead rope for balance.
Today, Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy is a recognized as an effective form of deep tissue known to improve posture, easy pain experienced with chronic lower back, neck, leg and arm discomfort, relief stress and spinal compression. Ashiatsu is a well documented therapy to treat chronic pain, is approved by the NCBTMB and recognized by the American Medical Association.
are you certified?
Yes, I am licensed and certified. I specialize in deep tissue massage with a unique barefoot massage technique, using my clean, soft feet and bodyweight, delivering deep, broad and consistent pressure. At the end of the session you receive massage and stretching to relieve neck pain. * Face is never massaged with the feet, but rather with clean hands.
I apply oil to the body with my skilled hands, and then proceed to work out deep tension with Ashiatsu, ‘walking’ on my client’s back, using bars to support the pressure and weight. Foot pressure is applied in long compression strokes or to specific trigger points, depending on your needs.
Is it painful?
Never! This massage provides depths and therapeutic effect without causing pain to me or you. If you have been looking high and low for an effective deep massage without the pain of an elbow digging into your muscles, then Ashiatsu may be the perfect massage for you.
“Ashiatsu Massage – A Slice of Heaven!” I am blown away by my recent Ashiatsu massage with Christiane! Previously, I never, ever considered getting that type of massage as I had back surgery and suffer from chronic pain. When I called to book a Swedish massage, Christiane filled me in on the benefits of Ashiatsu and I nervously accepted. However, there was NO reason to be nervous – it was the most fantastic massage I have ever received!! Christiane takes excellent care of her customers and provides a soothing, complete spa experience. Her techniques are deep yet never painful, and have significantly reduced my back pain over the last few days. I can’t wait for my next one! KRP Duluth
